The Challenges of Partnership Working - Links with Accord Consulting

Accord Consulting (www.accordconsultingservices.com) is part of a well established Plc that has a significant track record of working with local authorities.

Accord Consulting has developed a unique approach to the challenges of partnership working. This approach is born out of the wide experience of its seasoned practitioner consultants. It also flows from practical hands-on experience of working successfully with local government to nurture and develop partnerships both generally and in the context of LAA/LSP initiatives. Accord Consulting understands what makes partnerships tick.

Spark Data provides an online survey tool to support the Accord work.

It is a new funding year

April sees a new funding year, so it’s a good time to assess how you process your funding. Many partnerships are now part of an LAA. This means that funding can now come from :
  1. The government Office/Home Office
  2. The LAA
  3. The District Council (If you are 2 tier)
This is potentially and administrative nightmare!

With funding project you can now enter all these funding streams and treat them in exactly the same way. Each stream is managed from the office that is accountable. Reports can be produced for each administrative level, one stream, or all streams.

Searching 6000 Projects

Remember that the search function gives you access to the collected experience built up though over 6000 projects. By typing in keywords, you can find which present or past projects relate to your own problems.

For example: You have a problem with Off Road vehicles. If you go to the search screen and type “off road”’ into the advanced search (remember to use double quotes as this is a phrase, and switch off the “Search Local DB Only”).

You should find information on 10 projects, mainly in Wales and the South West.

Project Of the Month – “Rock the Bay”

Partnership: Conwy CDRP in Wales

Problem: Perception that all young people cause problems”

Response: Music/Dance and art festival. Rock The Bay – This will involve young people putting on a show, playing in bands to show the local community that the young people are not as bad as they think. The youngsters will feel that they are not being ignored once again as so many promises are made and broken. Questionnaires will be filled in on the day by volunteers taking the forms into the audience. For more details contact sian.taylor@conwy.gov.uk.
